French flags at the windows today? / Le drapeau français à la fenêtre?

These people who died - our children, our neighbours - were not people who went to the concert or to the restaurant with a flag in their hands. Their T shirts were not red white and blue, their jackets did not have French flag badges in their lapels. Those people in France today who place a French flag at their window in homage to these victims, as the president has asked, are making a mistake. Those of the elite who are organizing this flag hommage have other purposes in mind.

Ces morts - nos enfants, nos amis - n'étaient pas des gens qui allaient au concert ou en terasse le drapeau français à la main. Sur leurs T shirts il n'y avait pas de tricolore, sur leurs vestes il n'yavait pas de pin's du drapeau français. Ceux qui mettent un drapeau à la fenêtre en hommage à ces morts font erreur. Ceux de l'élite qui organisent l'agitation du drapeau le font pour une autre raison.
